One universally complicated question is what is the meaning of life? And that’s the thing, the meaning of life can be anything, there is no direct simple answer and many philosophers and novelists have thought about their own answers through their works and the main three are existentialism which is being born without purpose but over time you create your own purpose and meaning through choices and actions. Nihilism means that life has no objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value and absurdism states that life is inherently meaningless, but we can find joy in it by rebelling against the meaninglessness by embracing life’s experiences. These main three are made popular through the works of Albert Camus, Jean-Paul Sartre, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Franz Kafka, and Friedrich Nietzsche, and Osamu Dazai. The people I have just listed are ones of great ideas through the literature they create but there are also other ideas as to what the meaning of life could be like hedonism which means life’s meaning is the maximization of personal joy and the minimization of personal pain and stoicism which means to find meaning through simple pleasures, such as good food, conversation, and nature, and achieving peace in mind.
