Swept wings are essentially the base version of military aircraft after jets were invented. The wings of these aircraft are swept back or forward making a curve in the wings, which gives them reduced drag, increased speed, more structural stability with the addition of a large vertical tail, and reduced structural bending under high G’s. These wings also come with their challenges though such as reduced lift, requiring longer runways, reduced longitude stability, and reduced aileron control, increased load bare on wing roots. The F-22 and F-35 both use this design.
